Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using superior positioning, leverage and proper technique. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training can be used for Sport Grappling Tournaments (Gi and No-Gi), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Competition or Self Defense as well as a superior form of Fitness, Core Strengthening and weight loss!
In the early 1990’s Brazil’s Gracie Family came to America to showcased the effectiveness of Jiu-jitsu over all other martial arts styles in a winner take all, no holds barred event called the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Since that time Brazilian Jiu-jitsu has become the ‘Go To’ Style for anyone serious about martial arts training!
Self-Defense – Jiu-Jitsu allows a smaller, weaker person to defeat larger opponents with the use of proper techniques and leverage instead of relying on size and strength like most other martial arts styles. Because of the realization that most confrontations end on the ground, BJJ has quickly become the fastest growing, most in demand martial art style for people of all ages.

Jiu-jitsu for Women’s Self-Defense
Lets Face it, in reality a women’s self defense scenario is most likely going to be one of two things:
An assailant is going to throw you down and try to climb on top of you, or he is going to grab you and try to drag you away to somewhere more private.
This is ‘Grappling’ and it is what Jiu-jitsu trains to overcome every day! It is unrealistic to believe that you would be able to “Punch and kick” your way out of these situations. Wouldn’t it be smarter to learn how to keep yourself safe and escape the bad positions your most likely going to find yourself in? At Fargo Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy you have the VERY RARE opportunity to train with a champion female Black Belt instructor!
Prof. Sarah is a Pan-American Gold Medalist and one of very few female Black Belt instructors in the United States! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn from one of the best, Sign up for a FREE TRIAL right now!
